Kelli Fernandez-Medina
Kelli Fernandez-Medina has been practicing family law exclusively since 2001. Prior to joining the Ford Law Firm, she was the senior associate attorney at Staley, Jobson & Ford for six years.
Ms. Fernandez-Medina graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University with a dual B.A. in Economics and Spanish. She was awarded the Outstanding Major in Economics and the Goethe Award for excellence in Spanish. Ms. Fernandez-Medina also studied at the Universidad de Salamanca in Spain and has served as a translator for various government departments for the State of Ohio.
Ms. Fernandez-Medina obtained her law degree from The Ohio State University in May 2001 and was admitted in California in December 2001. She was awarded a Foreign Language Area Studies Fellowship (FLAS) from the U.S. Departments of Education and Defense in Spanish and was an intern at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for Southern District of Ohio, in the chambers of the Honorable Barbara J. Sellers.
Ms. Fernandez-Medina has been a lecturer on family law matters and has co-authored an article with Shane R. Ford. She is a former associate member of the Earl Warren American Inn of Court, Oakland, CA, where her team was awarded Best Program for the 2004-2005 year as well as Best Original Script for their May 2005 presentation and Outstanding Program in the national American Inns of Court for the 2005-2006 year. She is also a member of QDRONES (national organization dedicated to retirement and ERISA law), former President of the Alameda County Family Law Association, Women Lawyers of Alameda County, a member of the Alameda County Bar Association Family Law Section, and the Eastern Alameda County Bar Association
