OUR FAMILY LAW SERVICES

Experts in All Types of Family Law Issues and All Phases of Family Law Disputes

Different clients have different needs. Different families need different help.

Clients come to Ford Family Law for help with all different types of family law issues and disputes — from pre-marital agreements, post-marital agreements, paternity, modifications to existing Court orders and judgments, and, of course, divorce — and all of its issues, from complex property division to child custody to spousal and child support.

Some clients just need advice.

Sometimes, a party is exploring options and wants to understand what their rights and responsibilities would be should they pursue a divorce or, post-divorce, should they want to change jobs or move to another state with their children. That party needs feedback and advice from a professional who can help them navigate the issues.

WHEN YOU NEED ADVICE

Others need a litigator to take a case to trial.

While many family law matters settle without the parties ever having to walk into a courtroom, sometimes the parties reach an impasse. Both sides are dug into their positions, and neither side is interested in compromise. The parties then go to court, engage in adversarial litigation, and allow a judge to decide their dispute.

IN PUBLIC OR PRIVATE COURT PROCEEDINGS

Others need a mediator to help resolve a dispute.

Both parties wish to avoid litigation but cannot reach a mutual agreement on their own. So, the parties retain a neutral third-party professional — the mediator — who helps them identify options, explore alternatives, and reach an agreement that will meet their needs.

AS YOUR MEDIATOR OR NEUTRAL

Others need an experienced family law attorney to negotiate their exit.

Mediation is not the only option for parties who wish to avoid litigation. Sometimes, the parties’ lawyers can successfully negotiate a resolution without the assistance of a mediator or a judge.

DISCLAIMERContacting Ford Family Law, PC (“the Firm”), or any of our attorneys through our website does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and the Firm. You become a client of the Firm when (1) the Firm investigates for possible conflicts of interest that would prevent us from representing you, and (2) you sign a written engagement agreement that details the scope of the Firm’s engagement, the fee the Firm will charge, and other relevant matters. Normally, this process takes several days. Therefore, if your matter is urgent, you should not wait for our response to your inquiry. You should instead promptly find and engage another lawyer or law firm so that your rights will be protected.
