She remains drawn to the personal aspects of the practice of family law and the bonds forged between client and attorney in navigating what is a challenging time and process of change in most client’s lives.

Ms. Fernandez-Medina obtained her law degree from The Ohio State University in May 2001 and was admitted to the State Bar of California in December 2001. She graduated summa cum laude from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1997 with a dual B.A. in Economics and Spanish. She is a former board member of the Alameda County Family Law Association (ACFLA) and a former associate member of the Earl Warren American Inn of Court.

Ms. Fernandez-Medina is an avid runner and traveler and a complete nerd, who likes to relax with a good book, sometimes accompanied by martini or a glass of red wine. She spends her weekends hanging out with her husband, daughter, and dog, who are very proficient at making a lot of noise, getting into trouble, and quickly devouring everything she bakes. She treasures her family and friends. 2020 has reminded her of how insecure life is and, in the process, strengthened her resolve and ability to take things as they come and to tackle challenges, even when they seem endless.
